Almost every "amateur" vocal fails on the same handful of measurable things, not on the take itself. This tool reads all six and tells you which ones your vocal has, so you know exactly what to fix instead of guessing.

The order that matters: clean the noise, high-pass the rumble, cut the mud, control the dynamics, de-ess, then add presence and air, then width, then level. Do it in that order and almost any decent take can sound finished.

This analyzer measures loudness (BS.1770 K-weighted), true peak, spectral balance via FFT (mud, presence, sibilance, air), crest factor, stereo width, and an estimated noise floor, entirely in your browser. Treat it as a close guide, not a mastering-grade meter.

Common questions

Why does my vocal sound muddy or boxy?+
A muddy or boxy vocal usually has too much energy in the low-mids, roughly 200 to 500 Hz. A gentle cut in that range, plus a high-pass filter below about 80 to 100 Hz to remove rumble, clears it up. This analyzer measures your low-mid buildup and flags it if it's too high.
How do I fix harsh or sibilant vocals?+
Harshness lives in the 2 to 5 kHz range and sibilance, the harsh S and T sounds, in the 5 to 9 kHz range. A de-esser targeting the sibilance and a small dynamic cut on the harshness fix most of it. This tool measures both and tells you which one your vocal has.
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?+
No. The vocal is decoded and analyzed entirely on your own device using the browser's Web Audio API. Nothing is sent to any server, so you can safely analyze unreleased vocals.
